Welcome to Craigmillar Medical Group

We are a modern general practice in the heart of Craigmillar and Niddrie offering a wide range of services to our patients. We are committed to providing high quality holistic care for all our patients and are always looking at new ways to improve our service.

Our practice team consists of doctors, a nurse practitioner, practice nurses, health care assistants, mental health nurses, a physiotherapist, community link worker and care coordinators. We work closely with the extended community team of health visitors, district nurses, and midwives. We are a dedicated teaching and training practice, providing teaching to medical students and trainee GPs.

Our building is also used by other NHS services such as CAMHS and sexual health, as well as a variety of groups from the community including Citizens Advice Bureau and ELCA, bringing care to the centre of the community.

Please note that all calls will be recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously.  Having relationships of trust is fundamental to everything we do for our patients.  We ensure that all our staff are up to date with their training on confidentiality and the NHS Lothian policy on use of social media.  Please be assured that we will always treat the information you share with us with the respect, sensitivity and confidentiality that you deserve.

We hope that the information in this website will help you to make best use of our services and promote your best health and wellbeing.

CCTV is in operation in and around the surgery building. This is for the purposes of crime prevention and public safety and our equipment complies with the Data Protection Act (GDPR) 2018.

We are aware that our phone lines are very busy at the moment and that some people are having difficulty getting through on the phone.  If you get a “call failed” message please be reassured that your phone is working fine, it’s just that all of the telephone lines in and out of the practice are busy.  Please keep trying.  We are sorry for the distress that this is causing and know that we are working with the telephone company to improve the service we can provide.

We continue to ask that only those who have been told to attend for an appointment or other reason come to the practice.  We continue to ask that people attending the practice wear a face mask.  This is in line with healthcare settings guidance which is different to other places.

The COVID vaccination programme continues. A number of drop in sites are available across the city.  To find out the nearest venue to you please go here.

Further information about COVID-19, COVID vaccinations and COVID vaccination certificates can be found on our dedicated webpage.
